Life at the Institut Paul Bocuse

All the social spaces at the Instute are non-smoking.
• Le Mélibar: time for a break, a coffee, a tea or a fruit juice, or to enjoy a good meal.
• Synthèmes: The student restaurant where students, teachers and the whole team can eat well together.

• The Institute enjoys a partnership with a quality sports centre: more than 2000m², varied activities, group sessions, a broad range of equipment and relaxation with swimming pool, saunas, steam rooms…
• “Instants de Pur Bitume” or “Tarmac Time”: a weekly get-together for runners involving students, teachers and other members of the team.
> Meet and share
Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to take part in exceptional events such as:
• “Young Ambassador of Lyon”: a meeting between international students from Lyon and business leaders. In 2005, Chia-Ching Chiang, a Taiwanese student on the Hotel Management programme, received the Coup de Coeur prize for her project designed to present the Taiwanese candidate for the Bocuse d’Or prize 2007. • Cultural events, sports activities, culinary events, competitions, trophies, exhibitions, demonstrations... all organised by different local agencies (les Toques Blanches, Lyon City Council, the District Council and other local civil authorities)

The Student Union organises extra curricula activities, evenings and nights out and manages the value added events which allow students to work legally within the framework of their studies.

The Institute is ideally situated at the heart of an Alpine tourist region, next to the Beaujolais and Provence. Likewise, Lyon is within easy access of some major European cities such as Geneva, Barcelona, Frankfurt and more. Only 5 hours from London by Eurostar, 2 hours from Paris, and 3 hours from the Mediterranean, Lyon is also only a couple of hours from Europe’s best ski slopes.
