  Zoom... The Month of Europe

Their names are Marion, Francesca, Julien, Kasper, Luis, and Christoph… In this Month of Europe, they will share their paths that lead them to the IPB! Whether they come from France, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Spain or Luxembourg, they all have this little extra spirit that pushes them to go beyond their limits, be it geographical and/ or professional. In this fifth edition of “Zoom” we are proud and happy to show you their itineraries that illustrate to what point this profession has “more good points than bad”..and it is Francesca that says so. Happy reading!

“A career path… so British !” Marion David
We crossed the channel by telephone in order to interview Marion. In Italy, we pass the exam to become a good cook at a very young age” Francesca was not an exception to the rule ! Her grandmother, for whom eating well is like a religion, was her first guide.  “From Madrid to the Californian coast” Luis Alonso
When Luis finished high school at 18, he had three very different professional aspirations; biology, architecture and cooking. He decided on this last choice because, according to him, it was “the most reasonable of the three ?! “ He also admits that the opportunities to travel that are possible in this industry also helped tipped the scales. For Luis, “cooking has always been a family affair”. He learned the rudiments of cooking next to his mother and grandmother in Madrid. Curious as he is, it was while reading the newspaper El Mondo that he discovered the Institute Paul Bocuse and he went for it !  To continue

This is the motto of Kasper Kasprzycki-Rosikon, a 25 year old Pole endowed with unusual determination and an inextinguishable curiosity. .In the second year of his masters in Hotel and Restaurant management, his fifth year at the Institut Paul Bocuse, Kasper’s only limits are the ones that he sets for himself. His program of study, both atypical and brilliant is proof... To continue

> “Cultural learning with students from throughout the world” Christoph Lindner
Born in Cologne, Germany in 1982, he grew up in Luxemburg where he was naturalized, Christoph Linden currently lives in Phuket, Thailand !! At the moment, he is doing his 3rd year internship for the culinary arts program at IPB within the framework of a 12 month management training at the very luxurious Aleenta Resort & Spa...  To continue

> Julien Lamensch The financier ?
Julien Lamensch is Belgian. He lived in Brussels for 12 years then left with his parents, to live in Stuttgart. At 16, their destination was France. We might as well mention right away that concerning travel, Julien has had some experience. So, to keep up the rhythm, he thought that the hotel industry would be an ideal passport for maintaining his European spirit and why not go even further….
