A great victory for this passionate young women who proudly defended the Institut’s colors.
Michel Jauslin, Regional Vice President of Hyatt Hotels & Resorts created the Hyatt Student Prize with the desire to promote hotel training programs and put the enthusiasm and commitment of students from this sector in the spotlight. A group of 20 schools in Europe and in the United States was selected to participate in this competition. Amongst them, The Hotel School of Lausanne (Switzerland), Oxford Brooks (England)… and Institut Paul Bocuse (France).
In accordance with the demanding criteria set by The Hyatt, participants need to have a Master’s level and fluent English; the Master 2 class in International Hotel and Restaurant Management at the Institut, in partnership with IAE Lyon, unanimously elected Marion to represent their program and embody the 4 values of the Institut: high standards – respect – ethics - generosity. Following a first round to select the best 8 files from candidates, Marion was able to express her personality and personal success with authenticity and pertinence… and came home with a 2nd place finish, behind the student from ESSEC-IHMI and just ahead of the student from the University of Cornell in the United States.
Marion is already rich in experience; she has in her the example of her grandfather, chef and Maître Cuisinier de France; and she knows exactly what she wants: “I chose the hotel profession because it represents everything I was looking for: human relations with clients and co-workers, management, business development, the search for high service standards, and above all, a true passion” said Marion, still moved by the emotion. Marion remained serious as she projected herself into the coming 5 years at the jury’s request, “I want to acquire operational experience in revenue management in an international luxury hotel and contribute to its development as part of the management team. That would enable me to develop my knowledge in hotel management and progress with the chain’s own values. Then, I would like to manage a team in revenue management or accommodation…”
Without a doubt, her career path should be as exemplary as those of Mathieu Mouton and Charlotte Pedersen, the Institut’s finalists from the two previous editions.
