The SMBG ranking of the best programs in this specialty has recognized for the third consecutive year the performance of the Master’s degree granted by the Institut Paul Bocuse and IAE Lyon progressing from the fifth to the fourth place.
This is very prestigious recognition for this Master’s program that after only four classes of graduates, affirms the quality of the training delivered.
The SMBG ranking is based on three complementary criteria: the notoriety of the training for students and HR directors, the average salary obtained upon hiring of new graduates and, finally, student satisfaction.
Through this excellent ranking, this fledgling master’s program at the Institut has positioned itself alongside well-established programs with great reputations. The strong desire to have students work on real cases is most certainly one of the reasons for the program’s excellent performance. True to the principles that Institut Paul Bocuse defends, students are regularly led to work on large-scale projects, an excellent way for them to test their aspirations and acquired knowledge against the feasibility in the business world. For example, the Restaurant-School created by Institut Paul Bocuse during the Shanghai World Expo for ERAI and the Rhone-Alps region was a project led by students in the master’s program regarding managerial aspects.
It was also master’s graduates who were in charge of the management and operations of the Sixièmesens restaurant open to the public during the entire SIRHA trade show.
The success that crowned these two projects testifies not only to the quality of the students’ work, but also to their performance during practical exercises that re-enforces the interest of the theory.
This is a particularly encouraging result that confirms the quality of the teaching offered by Institut Paul Bocuse. The Bachelor’s Degree at the Institut and the undergraduate’s degree from IAE Lyon has already been ranked number one in its category by the SMBG ranking.
